New Ipods & My IPHONE Review (short & sweet)

newipods.jpg

With Apple&rsqo;s new ipod line up on the way the web has been filled with a bunch of crying babies. All of the early IPhone adopters are crying foul because now the IPhone is $200 bucks cheaper and with the same space which is the 8GB version while the 4GB will no longer be sold. First of all when the IPhone was set to be released plenty of known technology writers said to wait because soon the price will drop and etc. So non of this should be a surprise because that is how companies work and with technology there is always an update always something new coming along. So for all of you cry babies out there who felt ripped off Steve Jobs took his time and thought about you in a special letter for early Iphone buyers. Some people say that doesn&rsqo;t make up for it, but to me a $100 bucks at the apple store can get me something good and as my coworker Matt said “you can buy a lot of music with that money from the itunes store”.

Anyway ever since I received my beautiful IPhone as a present from my beautiful girlfriend as my bday gift I cannot put it down. To me this is the ultimate business phone for anyone. Yes there are missing features like zoom on the camera or flash, copy and pasting and some other very small things that I barely use anyway. It was extremely easy to set up and within minutes I was on and popping with my new IPhone. I started taking pictures for no reason and I couldn&rsqo;t believe how clear they come out for just a phone. I then started putting my music on it and even TV shows. The video was so clear and crisp. My mother and sister even watched the last episode on Girlfriends on it. I was playing with every single iPhone application I can get my hands on, which are great. I would have never thought just one single device like this would change how companies design their websites and even making their companies into special applications just for iphone users. From meedo to Facebook everyone is joining the party. My only gripe is with the email and that certain pop and imap lets spam mail go by, which can be extremely annoying to clean up. If you have just a straight up gmail account or yahoo mail and etc all of your folders and settings automatically sync with your IPhone so there aren&rsqo;t any worries there.

I also here complaints about how slow safari is on AT&T&rsqo;s Edge network and I never know why. #1 there are plenty of WIFI networks to use in the city and even in your neighborhood #2 The edge network isn&rsqo;t slow like that when you have full coverage #3 Why would you go to a huge loading hog websites while you know you don&rsqo;t have great reception in a certain area and while you don&rsqo;t have WIFI networks to work off of. To me the only reason why they didn&rsqo;t want to use faster network than edge is because all these companies offer their own music stores and videos on their faster networks and apple just want to feature their products. So for them to team with any other company with something faster than edge it will only hamper their ability to use their full itunes library and etc without competing with their partners whether it be Verizon, Tmobile, AT&T and others. So there is my theory and trust me as soon as I have issues with my Iphone I will post ASAP until then I am enjoying this beautiful well put together device. 1!!!

So moving along to apple&rsqo;s new ipods for the holiday season. MY coworkers and myself at Situation Marketing definitely thought the new Ipod nano & classic looked short, stacked and chubby. The front views give it that first impression, but when I checked it out from different angles it didn&rsqo;t come off that bad at all. Still though to me it doesn&rsqo;t come off as sleek as the older designs and also the UI in the preview pictures looks a bit weird to me, but you be the judge.

Here are the new stats on each device:

The IPod Shuffle has the same storage space and design, but just added some new cool colors. Nothing to be amazed about, but I know people are glad they didn&rsqo;t just change the whole design and etc like they did to me when I purchased the first generation IPod Shuffle.
The IPod Nano: You can choose the 4GB (149.99) or the 8GB(199.99). And here are some brief summaries from apple.com.
